Welcome to the University of Sheffield's Archery Club. On these pages you will be able to find information about the club: how to join, the committee, socials, competitions, and other useful information. If you have any questions that are not covered here, or any problems with the site, feel free to email us.
We are a small, friendly club open to University of Sheffield students and staff. Our sessions are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with the following timetable:
Monday: 7pm - 10pm
Wednesday: 2pm - 10pm (Seniors only from 6pm)
Thursday: 7pm - 10pm
Our indoor range is in Activity Room 3 at the Goodwin Sports Centre (USport) on Northumberland Road, up the hill from the Students Union.

All our sessions take place here in the autumn and spring terms, and in the summer term we shoot outside in the field by the football courts (weather permitting). Complete beginners are always welcome - most of our 'veteran' members came to university having never shot beforehand, and most of these people are now good enough to be on the committee. We provide all the equipment that you will need, so there is no need to go out and buy an expensive bow and a set of arrows. That said, if you do have your own bow then bring it down, and if you want to buy your own, then any of the senior club members will be more than willing to offer you advice.

CoachingCoaching is undertaken by the committee members
and other senior members of the club. All the coaching is fully
insured, and can be taken to a high level. If there is demand, then it
is possible for us to get a professional coach to provide expert tuition.
|
The Social SideWe are a very socially-minded club - in other words, we'll be off to the pub after
pretty much every shooting session- provided there's demand. We often
have some more exciting socials like pub crawls, curry nights, and such
like generally once a month.

|
Find Out MoreWe often have the 'Give it a Go'
taster sessions where people who are interested can come to the
Long-room and receive tuition from our more experienced Archers. Keep
an eye out here for more information regarding the dates and
times of these sessions which cost just three pounds. When organised,
you can sign up in the workspace at the Union.

Alternatively, you could come along to a GIAG or even a normal club session. Joining at the Sports Bazaar or in a GIAG qualifies you for a special discounted membership fee of £20. |
